
Wealthy businessmen like Jonathan Myrick Daniels and Vernon Ferdinand Dahmer paid the ultimate price of the lives all in the name of justice between the races. When influential people stand up and demand respect for themselves and their culture, a change can be made.

This goes to show that people of all skin colors, religions and beliefs can join together to overcome oppression and hysteria that comes with it. King stated, “I have a dream that one day, down in Alabama, with its vicious racists, with its governor having his lips dripping with the words of ‘interposition’ and ‘nullification’ - one day right there in Alabama little black boys and black girls will be able to join hands with little white boys and white girls as sisters and brothers” (King). The speech took place at the Lincoln Memorial in Washington DC. once delivered his “I Have a Dream” speech on August 28, 1963.
